How to Play Billiards is a subject that many occasional pool players seek to find the answer. When you stop and think about it, it’s a tough question to answer. Where do we start?
My personal opinion is that it’s best to start by pouring a good foundation. Just like in putting up a building, you have to build your pool game. The building or the billiards game must have a solid foundation. The fundamentals of billiards is where you will want to get started.
This can be difficult for some people who have been playing there own way for years. The fundamentals will hit them like a ton of bricks. All of a sudden you find out you were holding the cue incorrectly, standing wrong and letting your body move around while shooting. It’s like having to learn the entire game from scratch.
Billiards is a great game and if you enjoy cruising around the pool table putting balls in the pockets, then learning the fundamentals will definitely be worth while. When you learn how to use English and control your cue ball, the game becomes addictive.
Learning how to become a master with your pool cue and administer massive control over the billiards balls and the billiard table can be a pretty cool thing. I love to run a rack in a big match when the score is tied hill hill. This is when the long hours of practice and studying the game all become worth it.
The next time you are wondering how to play billiards, Start with the Fundamentals. Put that solid foundation in place as you begin to learn the correct way to play. This will serve you well in these pool - billiards games.
To Your Run Out Success,
Ted
