Billiards Match. Nine Ball Pool league comes to an end for this season.
Sunday, September 21st was the final 3 for the Pueblo Colorado Pool / Billiards league 9 ball. The matches started at noon where Diamond Jims who came through the one loss side played the Big Daddy team. This was a close match all the way with the score being tied 14 to 14 in this first to win 18 games match.
Diamond Jim’s pulled out the win in the end with a score of 18 to 15.
The next match was Diamond Jim’s VS. The Buffalo Tavern. The first match went to Diamond Jim’s with a score of 18 to 7. Because The Buffalo defeated Diamond Jim’s in the semi finals, there had to be one more match for the championship.
The final match was neck in neck. The final score was 18 to 17 in The Buffalo taverns favor, giving them the first place championship honor. This was especially a drag for me because I played the case game for Diamond Jim’s.
I miscalculated a draw shot on the one ball and sctatched in the corner pocket. My buddy Frank from the other team took ball in hand, made a shot while breaking out a couple clusters and then shot in a 5 9 carom shot.
The entire season came down to our two teams, who each had one loss to each other and only one game seperated the first and second place titles.
Post your comments below with your home town results and close matches. Any kind of Billiards news is cool. If you play pool league, post your results here. We want to know about eight ball, nine ball, straight pool and even one pocket.

That first match was a close one and it sounds like there was some intense competition, but wow, the battle for the championship….well it makes me wish I was there! Awesome reporting on this local fight to the finish. I play on an all woman team in a mixed BCA league. We just started two weeks ago for Zippers, lost the first one 15-10 to Diamond Jims 3, won the second one 15-10 against Sammy’s 1. Tonight we play Quarthouse 1 at home, lookin for another win of course! Good luck to all you guys and gals. Happy shooting, Patti Aragon.
